When I was fifteen, I painted my bedroom taxicab yellow and painted geometric designs on my shades using a similar palate to the one below. That was my nest, my refuge and I loved it. Though the years have somewhat tempered my love of intense color, every once in a while it still flares and inspired the painting below, “Placental Accomodations”.
With the pandemic being reasonably corralled around here, I am ready for some unbridled joy. I see it in everyone I meet. The smiles, the relief, the visible relaxation. Things will never be the same again, imprinted as we now are with the politics of the last four years, the nearly 600,000 deaths from Covid and our continued challenges, but we are now at last able to move forward, breathing more easily. So grab some color, be some color and put it out there!
